I've posted this previously (see here), but figured it was about time for an end of the year wrap up. I didn't quite meet the fifty book challenge, but considering I didn't get started until the end of July, I think I did OK.
So here are the rules: start a thread (or start your own blog) and list the books you've read this year. If you haven't been keeping track of the books you've read, start when you join. I will update this list as often as possible, so you may see this post find it's way back up at the top of my blog sometime.
(beginning July 2008)
1. The Alton Gift / Marion Zimmer Bradley & Deborah J Ross
2. The Boleyn Inheritance / Philippa Gregory
3. Innocent Traitor: A Novel of Lady Jane Grey / Alison Weir
4. The First Princess of Wales: A Novel / Karen Harper
5. Twilight / Stephanie Meyer
6. New Moon / Stephanie Meyer
7. The Concubine / Norah Lofts
8. Ravens of Avalon / Marion Zimmer Bradley & Diana Paxson
9. Royal Harlot / Susan Holloway Scott
10. The King's Favorite / Susan Holloway Scott
11. The Forest House / Marion Zimmer Bradley
12. Vanity Fair / William Makepeace Thackeray (in progress)
13. The Conqueror / Georgette Heyer
14. Royal Escape / Georgette Heyer
15. Wideacre / Philippa Gregory
16. The Duchsss / Amanda Foreman (in progress)
17. Darkover Landfall / Marion Zimmer Bradley
18. Brideshead Revisited / Evelyn Waugh (in progress)
19. The GRE Study Guide - Princeton Edition (working on it!)
As you can see, I'm notorious for reading several books at one time. Some books on this list I've read before ... I love re-reading books that I enjoy. I think that you will always find something new that you didn't see the first time you've read it. Case in point, I've read Wideacre (Philipps Gregory) at least five times. My all time most read book? Definitely Mists of Avalon (Marion Zimmer Bradley). I've read that book a dozen times, if I've read it once. My neighbor Stacey used to make fun of me as I would have to make trips to Barnes & Noble to buy replacement books ... books so well read that they've worn out. I think I'm on my third (or fourth?) copy of The Witches of Eileanan (Kate Forsyth).
